Hello, Darlings! Today I am going to share My Favorite Keto Meals To Make At Home. It is important to have easy to grab and fast meals you can make and enjoy. Eating at home gives you the control of knowing exactly what you are eating. Stay away from packaged, process foods because many of the ingredients are sugar and preservatives that will throw your body out of ketosis.
One of the best things I have noticed from being on the Keto Diet is that my grocery list is much smaller. Spending less money on groceries is a win.
My Favorite Keto Meals To Make At Home
Remember The Goals Of The Keto Diet
Remember, the goal with the Keto Diet is to eat- no sugar, low carbs, high fat. When you first start the diet, it is extremely important that you eat until you feel full. You are working towards “fat-adaption”. Once you reach that, you will slowly start backing off the fats/calories.
Start Off The Day With Coffee Hug
Growing up I was not a coffee drinker. But now I love my morning coffee and getting rid of the sweetened creamers was the hardest part of the Keto Diet. Now I do not even miss it. I start my morning off with flavored coffee, right now Pumpkin Spice. To this, I add 4 capsules of MCT Oil and 2 TBSP of heavy cream. I use my handheld foamer to mix heavy cream before I add it to my coffee. Finally, I top my coffee with a pinch of cinnamon.

My Favorite Keto Breakfast Meal
I love breakfast, especially a big hearty breakfast. My favorite keto breakfast meal is- 2 eggs scrambled cooked in butter, add full-fat cheddar cheese on top. Add a side of sugar-free bacon and several slices of avocado.
Eggs are high in omega-3 fatty acids, so are many fish and fish oils. Some of the benefits of omega 3 are:
- Lower blood pressure.
- Reduce triglycerides.
- Slow the development of plaque in the arteries.
- Reduce the chance of abnormal heart rhythm.
- Reduce the likelihood of heart attack and stroke.
My Favorite Lunch Meal
After a big hearty breakfast, you may not be very hungry for lunch. At the beginning of the Keto Diet, you need to eat to get your fats up. If not, your carb cravings will come back. So let’s try a Big Mac Salad.
Big Mac Salad
I love this salad, it is hearty and filling. You will need to find a salad dressing that is NO SUGAR. My favorite is Primal Kitchen Green Goddess Dressing, and I find it at Target.
- 1lb of ground beef cooked (80/20) or 2 hamburger patties
- 2 cups Romaine or iceberg lettuce
- 1 cup tomatoes chopped
- 3/4 cup shredded cheese
- 1/2 cup diced dill pickles (check for sugar)
- Sesame seeds
Combine and toss with dressing.
Use the same formula to create a taco salad with beef, chicken, or steak. Watch salsa and taco seasonings for sugar content, if you use them, you will need to make sure you count or them in Carb Manager. Remember you can add cheese, sour cream, and guacamole because it is all about the fat.
My Favorite Dinner Meals
As you progress on the Keto Diet, you will find you will skip a meal because you are just not hungry. But at the beginning, while you are getting “fat-adapted” you need to concentrate on what it “feels” like to be full. Don’t worry about anything but carbs. Later on, once you reach fat-adaption, you will reduce proteins.
Protein + Low Carb Vegetable
This is the easiest and quickest meal to have on hand. I just got an air fryer and it is perfect for cooking for one or two people. Choose fatty meats such as ribeye steak or chicken with skins on. You can also have fish and other seafood. You will want to cook them with butter (remember keto is about fats) and use seasonings that do not have any sugar.
Choose low carb vegetables such as broccoli, asparagus, Brussel sprouts, steam, bake, broil, or even cook in the air fryers. Use sugar-free seasonings and add butter to taste. You can even sprinkle a little bacon on top!
Think of your low carb vegetables as a vessel for fats. So you will want to measure and record your carbs. Sometimes I will have a small salad with full fat dressing or even cole slaw, slightly broiled with butter- YUM!
Another way you can get you fats from a dinner meal is to make a sauce. One of my favorites is a simple lemon butter sauce for chicken or fish.
My Favorite Keto Snack
One of the first habits you will want to break is snacking. Good news is by eating all this fat you are not hungry. So breaking the habit is truly mental. If you have to snack, you need to have on hand “keto friendly” snacks.
***Stay away from processed foods, they are loaded with chemicals that could cause you to stall.
Choose full-fat favorites such as cheeses, nuts, olives, and meats. It is great to have these on hand when the cravings start. For cheeses look toward your hard cheese such as cheddar, pepper jack, gouda, brie. Meats selection try pepperoni, pancetta, salami, or chicken. Round your charcuterie board out with nuts, olives, or pickles, or berries such as blackberries and raspberries. There are “keto-friendly” crackers out in the market, but I would avoid or use very sparely.
As I progress in my Keto Diet, I have found that instead of dinner, I will have a small charcuterie board. Just remember to measure and count everything in your Carb Manager.
Fat Bombs and Mug Cakes
Sometimes you just need something sweet and if you don’t get it you will go crazy. Don’t worry, fat bombs and mug cakes are your answer. I have a freezer full of fat bombs that I can easily grab when the cravings hit. Check out my post of FAT BOMBS for three of my favorites
With the cooler months coming quickly, comfort food cravings hit hard. Here are some simple mug cake recipes to try. I will be honest, I did not like them because they upset my stomach (too much Swerve). You have to be careful with keto-friendly sweeteners. Try them and see how you do, they are a great way to beat cravings and still stay in ketosis. Just remember- use them sparingly.
