Hello, Darlings!
I hope you had a wonderful time with family and friends over the 4th. I am still at the beach recovering from the holidays but wanted to share with you one of my new favorite outfit pieces. This is the
Trina Turk Sunburst Cover Up. I originally bought it as a beach cover-up, but to tell the truth, it was just too nice. This cover-up is not your typical cover-up, it is really a kimono. After coming to that conclusion, a whole world opened up for me. This is a totally versatile piece that can be worn so many ways. It would be the perfect piece to take on a trip to a nice resort where you wanted to look stylish.
Trina Turk Sunburst Cover Up As A Kimono
I am styling it today as a kimono to throw over a simple cotton jersey dress to create a dramatic look for beachside dinner. After a day in the sun at the beach, pool, or lake the last thing you want to do is to put on a bra. I have been collecting this simple strapless dresses from Soma for several years because they come with a built-in soft cup bra. Because many of the restaurants have the a/c going full blast, you want to add a sweater or kimono for warmth or drama.
Out To Dinner With Trina Turk
The detail and colors on this cover-up/kimono are incredible. It is well made with tassels and armholes that are constructed and wears more like a cardigan. This is the perfect piece to pack for a trip to have during the day as a bathing suit cover-up then, use at night for a kimono over a simple black dress. I have also seen this styled with black capris and top. Very versatile for those special trips where you need to make sure your pieces have multiple functions. The Trina Turk Cover Up is not cheap, I purchased it at Dillard’s earlier this year for around $148. Now is the time to watch pieces like this to go on sale as retailer’s start to get fall merchandise in.
Don’t Forget Accessories For A Finished Look
To bring attention to my face, I add the Silpada “Drops of the Ocean” necklace I have worn many times. It is still available on Amazon. I paired it with my large gold hoop earring from Lilly Pulitzer for additional drama (you know how I like to make an entrance). To finish off this outfit, I carried my simple straw clutch and wore my favorite Fitflops.
Simple Straw Clutch For Summer
As we get into the “Dog Days Of Summer” now is to time to watch for those sales and grab pieces that you can have on hand to create easy, and fast outfits. Here on the beaches of 30A, I like to dress up for dinner in the nice restaurants. Taking the time to create a fun and comfortable outfit is the hardest part. I have been collecting mix and match piece to have down at my beach house so creating the perfect outfit is a breeze. Formula- cotton jersey dress with built-in bra (black) + kimono + turquoise beach necklace and gold earrings + sandals + straw clutch = Winning Look.
Winning Look For Resort/Beach Wear
This Trina Turk Cover Up also has a matching bathing suit. The style doesn’t work with my body type but if I wore this for an actual cover up I would style it with a black bathing suit.
Next month the theme for The Good Buy Good-Bye Book is kimono’s! I hope you Will join us then with this beautiful piece!
I would love to participate!!! Kimono’s are my fave
I have seen so many kimonos and they are all beautiful! Yours is no exception. I love the black and turquoise color combination. Nothing quite like turquoise to make a statement!
