Transition Into Spring With A Moto-Style Jacket

Hello, Darlings! Today is another fashion day, Transition Into Spring With A Moto-Style Jacket. February and March are weird weather months here in the South. We can have snow and ice one day, warm beautiful days the next. It is as if Mother Nature is fickle and can’t make up her mind. Many days you start the morning in a heavy coat only to be wearing shorts by mid-afternoon. So having a few pieces to help “transition into Spring” is extremely helpful when wardrobe planning.

Transitioning Into Spring With A Moto-Style Jacket- Chloe Jacket From Kettlewell

Meet My New Favorite Moto-Style Jacket- Chloe From Kettlewell

For Petites, the “Moto-Style” jacket is a great choice. The jackets are shorter, usually hitting slightly below the waistline but above the hips. This makes the “Moto-Style” jacket a great choice for pear-shaped women also.

Meet Chloe from Kettlewell Colours. This is a “Moto-Style” jacket that comes in many colors, including options from all of the seasonal color palettes. Kettlewell Colours will be launching its spring collection at the beginning of March and I expect to see even more color options.

Most “Moto-Style” jackets you see will only come in neutrals and will be either leather, faux leather, or faux suede. The Chloe from Kettlewell Colours is made of thick cotton which makes it the perfect piece for transitioning into both Spring or Fall.

Because of the zipper details, this jacket has a more casual look which makes it a great choice for my more laid-back lifestyle. Because the material has so much “give” you can wear this jacket either loose or zipped up.

Zipper details give this Moto-Style Jacket a unique almost biker girl feel. This is how I styled the jacket zipped halfway up.

Because of the zipper details and wide lapels, this jacket is a MUST for Pear body shapes. It follows all the rules for Pears with lots of attention and details up towards the face. I recently purchased the Chloe Jacket from Kettlewell Colours in Sapphire and paired it with a black Silky Roll Turtleneck and my black Wit & Wisdom Boot Cut Jeans from Nordstrom.

Because Pear’s require so much attention towards the face, I added an additional statement necklace to complete the look. This would be a great Date Night/ Couple’s Night or even Girl’s Night Out. You could also wear this jacket with a dress/skirt for a fun look. The jacket has a little weight to it but will not provide tons of warmth.

Moto-Jacket Styling-Adding Even More Color With A Scarf

Scarves are another item that is great for the transitional time. They add a bit of bulk at the neckline which can provide some warmth. Mostly they provide color, texture, and style. I have discovered Kettlewell Colours Florence Infinity Scarves. Like the Chloe Jacket, they come in an array of seasonal colors. I have found that adding one of these scarves to an outfit really helps change the look.

I am having a blast experimenting with colors. Because my Seasonal Color Palette is Winter, I can purchase scarves in those colors and I am able to mix and match with multiple outfits. The weight of the Florence Infinity Scarf is quite light.

The Florence Infinity Scarf is a great item to add to an outfit if you want an additional POP of color. Kettlewell will be adding more colors as stock becomes available from their factories.

If you need a scarf with more warmth, Kettlewell has a Merino Infinity Scarf which is a 12 gauge knit made from 100% Italian Merino Wool. I own several and found that they are not “itchy” or oversized.

Chloe Jacket- Sizing Can Be Tricky

I first purchased this jacket last year and found that the LL was way too large and the L was too tight and could not be zipped. I was so disappointed because I really LOVED the style. Since then I have lost almost 35 lbs and decided to give the jacket another try. That weight loss has allowed me to now wear the Large Chloe Jacket and zip it up. You don’t have to zip the jacket, but I wanted the option. The jacket has somewhat of a slimmer fit, especially towards the waist area which makes it very flattering.

The Chloe Jacket is semi-fitted, Moto-Style with the average length being around 22/23 inches making it a great option for Petites.

With Kettlewell Colours launching their Spring Collection around the first week in March, I look forward to seeing what new colors they add. I am hoping for a bright blue, similar to Chinese Blue, or maybe even a bright green to add to my collection.

Full Disclosure

I am NOT an affiliate for Kettlewell Colours, this is a company out of the UK that I discovered by accident when looking for bright colors to add to my wardrobe. I LOVE the quality of their clothing and the many color options. These are basics that I have been adding to my closet, creating a great capsule wardrobe.

Kettlewell Colours has recently been trying to break into the US market. I found shopping from them to be very easy. They offer pricing in US dollars and you receive free shipping with purchases over $100 and free returns with a 3-month return window.

The only problem is sometimes shipping can be slow due to the fact that your items have to go thru US Customs. My average shipping time is about 2 weeks. Covid issues in the UK can also delay shipping.

Returns can also take anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months depending on the postal system in both countries. My average return time is 3 weeks. I use Pay Pal for all my transactions and my Pay Pal account is credited when they receive the returns.

Spring Collection Coming Soon

The Spring Collection from Kettlewell is due to launch in March. With issues at their factories due to Covid shutdowns, they will be featuring items as stock becomes available. This means the full Spring/Summer Collection will be released in smaller increments. Which for me will be easier on my wallet.

I was able to get a “sneak-peak” last week of the collection. So many great items I will want to add to my closet, including sleeveless tops, summer-weight sweaters, a new halter-style top, and prints. Waiting to see what new colors the Chloe Jacket will come in. I am so ready for some “retail therapy”.

  1. Regan, you have sold me on the Chloe. I was worried about fit, but I think it will work. Just waiting for the new collection. Then I will be torn about color- buy a neutral or a wow. Would love to get both, but there are too many other things I want.

    1. I think of the Chloe Jacket the same as I think of the Shawl Wrap. Not so much as outerwear, but more as a layer. So for me, I will be adding the Chloe in more WOW colors. I tried it in my neutral and it seems to have lost some of its luster. I am hoping to add it in the Amazon Green and possibly an Aqua or Chinese Blue. Also, need a brighter pink, the Sangria did not have enough punch. But this is only about me. You should evaluate it for your personal colors and style choices.
      Getting excited about Spring,
      Regan
