Hello, Darlings! Today’s topic is How To Wear The Color Navy. Navy is actually a color, a neutral, that is in everyone’s seasonal color palette. There are so many shades of Navy, knowing your shade can help you when shopping.
How To Wear The Color Navy

Introducing The Many Shades Of Navy
Blue is the ultimate “cool” color, but different variations of the color Navy can be a great substitute for black. Black is such a harsh color on many. If you have ever tried to buy and match Navy, you know how many different variations there are. Some of the names for Navy include French Navy, Marine Navy, Bright Navy, Soft Navy, Midnight, and Indigo.
Winter Navy
Winter’s Navy is both bright, dark, and deep. Due to the cooler nature of the color Navy, Winters can wear Navy top to bottom. For ultimate contrast, pair with any of the bold colors in the Winter Seasonal Color Palette, or bright white.

If your seasonal color palette is Summer, Fall, or Spring you might want look towards the lighter brighter side of Navy. Using this color as a base or making sure you add a POP from your seasonal color palette.
Navy For A Fall Outfit Inspiration
Navy and red are true traditional pairings, but I like a deeper, bluer red. Today I have chosen to wear my Kettlewell Colours sleeveless V neck top with my Beyond Proper Travel Collection Crop Pants. Creating my favorite “column of color” as a base for my outfit. For a POP of color, I have added a long cardigan, Kettlewell Colours’ Shawl Wrap in Rumba Red.

What Color Shoes Do I Wear With Navy?
So many options for shoe choices with the color Navy. For me in the warmer months, I like to pair navy with silver metallic or nude/taupe. For the cooler months I pair Navy with black. I do have some Navy pumps that I wear with my Navy dresses, but I haven’t found Navy flats I like..yet.
These are my OTBT Jaunts, open toe platform wedges. Great comfort and give me just a wee bit more height!

I treated myself this week to a pedicure, choosing a blue/gray polish for the fall/holiday season. Great color to go with darker color outfits.
Accessorizing A Navy Outfit
Because this darker, Indigo blue is so cool, I have selected my Eccentric Necklace, black leather with a silver medallion from Chicos. For this outfit, Pear-Shaped Body Types will need an additional statement necklace. Silver necklace or layered necklaces will complement the v neckline.

Darker Makeup For Fall Look
With the cooler months and darker colors, you need to add extra makeup for balance. Don’t want to look washed out against the deeper darker colors.
For my look I spent some extra time on my eyeshadow, adding darker colors to the outer corner of my eye. Light colors to the inner 1/3 of my lid and brow bone help brighten and lift my lids. With eye makeup, the rule of thumb is UP and OUT.

This outfit was my church, OOTD (outfit of the day). I chose a deeper, bluer red, MAC Russian Red for my lips. Lipstick has been the forgotten friend during COVID. But if you are going to take pictures or do ZOOM type meetings, lipstick is a MUST. Add an additional step of using gloss for extra shine. I use MAC Mini C-Thru Lip Gloss.

Again, because of COVID restrictions and mask mandates, it is a good idea to emphasis the eyes. I wiped my lipstick/gloss off before putting on the mask.
