Today I am playing “catch up” so I am going to share with you my Update On The Library Renovation Project. I was out of town all last week and my darling husband was a champ! He supervised the renovation, met with painters, and took care of all the details. My plate was mentally and emotionally full, so it was great not having to worry about the home front.
Update On The Library Renovation Project
I am very pleased with the results so far. Take a peek of the work in progress.
Carpenter spent the week hard at work creating a space that is better suited to our needs. The old built-in desk was removed, floor repaired, new shelving installed. New molding and trim was added to make it match the rest of the room
The bottom shelving will be closed cabinets (doors installed to be installed on Friday). My daughter kept Emma and Gracie at her home so carpenter could work in peace. (schnauzers are barkers). Each day they had to inspect his work.
The carpenter utilized the existing built-in bookcase but made the shelves sturdier and non-adjustable. We had trouble in the past with the brackets breaking and bookshelves collapsing. The bottom section with be a built-in filing cabinet to store important papers that we need to have access to on a regular basis.
This Week’s Work Schedule
We have painters scheduled to start priming the stained woodwork on Wednesday. It will be painted Decorator White. The string cloth will be removed and the walls will be painted Sherwin Williams Amazing Gray. The back of the shelves will also be painted Amazing Gray. The rest of shelving will be painted the Decorator White.
My daughter will be finishing up our decor plan and we will be purchasing a desk and a comfortable work chair. It is coming together nicely and on schedule. Even with my emergency trip last week.
