What To Wear To Casual Holiday Parties- Start With Jeans
Yes, I said jeans. It is a casual party, right? Dark denim or black jeans are not only slimming but they are comfortable. Choose jeans that are boot cut, which is a little dressier and the most flattering to all body types. They will look good with cute booties, casual flats, or heels. If you want to tuck your jeans in higher boots, choose a jegging.
My favorite jeans are the Wit & Wisdom Itty Bitty Bootcut Jeans From Nordstrom. I have them in both dark denim and black.
My favorite jeggings are the Pull-On Jeggings From Chicos

Velvet Jackets Are Very Popular This Year
I am seeing velvet jackets everywhere. Easy to dress up or down. Plus the newer velvets are not thick and have spandex. Which makes them less cumbersome. Comfort is important.
For a casual look, wear jeans or Ponte knit pants, add the blazer with a graphic tee, or just plain t-shirt such as white, add some sparkling accessories.

How About A Poncho

I LOVE ponchos. Not only are they super comfortable but they do hide a multitude of sins. I wear them with a long-sleeve t-shirt underneath, denim jeans or leggings.
Accessorise With Scarf
Don’t be shy about accessorizing for the holidays. It doesn’t always have to be about sparkle and shine. How about animal print, it is the new neutral.

Get classic plaid scarves at J. Crew Factory.

Accessorize With Sparkle And Shine
Adding a statement necklace can help level up an outfit or an evening casual get together.

Pull Out The Fur
Faux fur is EVERYWHERE!!!! As the weather gets colder, pull it out and have some fun.

Great look for dinner out with friends or holiday party, black turtleneck with a faux fur jacket and statement necklace. Wear with dark or black denim jeans and boots.

Fur trim ponchos, scarves, vests, and jackets are on-trend and work for many occasions.

Or A Fun Holiday Themed T-shirt
Girl’s Night or Bunco Party, add a holiday-themed t-shirt with comfortable jeans or knit pants. You can also add a vest or denim jacket with this look.

Feeling A Bit Overwhelmed?
Yes, that would be me. This month is flying by. I LOVE holiday get-togethers but not all in the same week. This introvert needs some downtime. I will be working the first part of the week at church giving out gifts in our Santa Shop. The last couple of days I will be running around like a chicken with its head cut off, getting ready for 2 parties this weekend AND my immediate family Christmas gathering (not my year for the kids on Christmas).
Thank goodness I already planned out my holiday party outfits. I have several options, options are good.
I may need a trip to the spa….. or a nap.
Don’t forget your hostess gifts. Check out Holiday Hostess Gifts and My Favorite Wines for ideas so you don’t arrive empty-handed.

Hi, Regan – You’ve got a lot of great ideas here, and I LOVE outfit ideas (Lol! – gotta see my blog to get the joke) 😆 And you look so cute in these outfits that you make me want to wear them and look as cute as you! Thanks for showing how well these looks work for the season- Angie, http://www.yourtrueselfblog.com
Thanks, Angie! Parties are getting more and more casual, but I still like to have fun. Weather is messing with my outfit plans this year. Rain-warm, rain-cold, rain, rain, and more rain.
I LIVE IN FLORIDA, DO YOU HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS FOR WINTER WEAR. IT IS USUALLY A COOL 70+ DEGREES.
