Today starts the being of my gift guide series. Holiday Gift Guide For Men Over 50 will give you some of my favorite and my hubby’s favorite Christmas gifts. Men can be hard to buy for. They too want to update their wardrobe. Going from working to retirement or ballpark dad to empty nester requires a re-evaluating of their wardrobe too.

Wardrobe Basics For Men
Lululemon for men? My husband about freaked out when I told him the most popular pants for me are from a store that invented athleisure. Women have enjoyed rayon and spandex, now it is time for the men. The ABC Classic Warpstreme Pant comes in many colors and the fabric has 4 way stretch which makes them super comfortable, lightweight, and perfect for travel. The styling is classic and will work for the new more casual office style.
My husband LOVES them and we have them in almost every color and it is his “go-to” pant. My sons also wear them.
For more of a classic weight pant, these 5-Pocket Stretch Twill Pants from Orvis have been a huge hit. Cotton/Spandex mix makes these pants super comfortable for the more casual empty nest lifestyle. They come in 5 colors.
Time for the men in our life to update their jeans too. Now men can enjoy the stretch fabric in jeans. Dan likes the 1856 5- Pocket Stretch Denim jeans from Orvis in Midnight. He has them in Midnight and a more traditional denim color Duster. The darker jean color allows him to “level up” his casual wear for date night or casual outings with friends.
My husband is very choosy on his sweaters. He likes the quarter-zip style that he can layer, and feel in love with the Orvis Merino Wool Zip neck Quarter-Zip Sweater. It comes in 8 colors and has a leather looking detail along the zipper that makes it look very upscale. This is his “go-to” sweater and his favorite colors are navy and charcoal.
To layer under the quarter zip, try these Signature Twill Long Sleeve Button Up Shirts from Orvis. The charcoal/red paid looks FABULOUS under the charcoal quarter zip. He wears this outfit with the ABC pants in a gray color called Obsidian or jeans.
Shoes For Men
For our rainy cold winters, duck boots are king. These Avenue Duck Boots from Sperry are comfortable and lighter weight than the duck boots in the past. They come in 5 different color combinations
A classic everyday shoe for style and comfort, the Sperry Billfish 3-Eye Boat Shoe is can’t be beaten.
Sperry has a slip-on loafer which is perfect for comfort and style. It comes in 3 different colors. You can dress it up on down. Great shoe for empty nest lifestyle.
Technology is going stylish with this Fossil Men’s Tech Explorist Gen 4 Smart Watch. Easy to read watch face and stylish leather band make this gift a winner
Men need stylish readers too. Check out reader glasses from Foster Grant. They have readers with blue light blocking and also have a line of sunglass readers.
Update The Underwear
Time to update the underwear too. Tommy John’s Second Skin Relaxed Fit Boxer has a micro modal fabric that is super comfortable for everyday wear. For the gym try their 360 Sport Boxer Brief which has anti micro/ anti-odor features.

When it comes to outerwear, you just can beat LLBean. The Warm-Up Fleece Lined Jacket is a great everyday jacket for warmth, protection from the rain and wind without the bulk. There is also a Flannel Lined Warm UP Jacket.
