Hello, Darlings!
I have completed my second round of sugar detox. I was doing great until PUMPKIN SPICE. The trouble with pumpkin spice is the smell sends off so many signals. Most of those signals revolve around food, mostly sweets.

I am going to tell you, I LOVE pumpkin spice. I love pumpkin spice scented candles, pumpkin spice coffee, coffee creamer, cookies, cheesecake, muffins…. and the list goes on. It just envokes the feeling of warmth and calm, kind of like a blanket or a big hug.

Pumpkin Spice Coffee For Sugar Detox Diet
Not a fan of Starbucks so that will save me $$$ and calories. But I do love a good cup of pumpkin spice coffee. I get these K Cups every year from Target.

Pumpkin Spice Almond Milk Creamer
Now, until yesterday, I have done a FABULOUS job adding pumpkin spice without compromising my new sugar-free lifestyle. Pumpkin Spice flavored coffee with a pumpkin spice flavored Almond/Coconut Creamer. The creamer does have 2 added sugars (15 cal). I am trying to keep my added sugars down to 4 so this works. You have to watch the serving size…

Scent Of Fall
Some of the pumpkin spice candles are way too sweet-smelling. I love this Harvest Yankee Candle. A perfect blend of fall scents without being overwhelming and without sending my senses into sugar overload. If you have candles that are too sweet smellling it will send you to the kitchen looking for a sweet.

Fall Decorating Has NO Calories Or Sugar
Just the thought of fall has me wanting to add some fall decor to my home. Maybe if I concentrate on that, I will not think of cookies or caramel apples.

Good News! Back On Track With Sugar Detox Diet
After a brief “fall” from my diet, I am back on track. It is hard with all the festivals, football games, and parties. Several of my friends have been great about providing “healthy snacks” and I have been bringing alternatives to work with my diet. Now, do I think I can resist the temptations? No, so I am going to let myself have a “bite-o”. One small bite of something then throw it or give it away (my husband is handy to take that sweet out of my hand). That way I will not feel deprived and think about it all of the time.
Pumpkin Spice Energy Bites Or Fat Bombs
With the keto crazy going strong, there are tons of recipes out on Pinterest for something to satisfy your need for pumpkin spice. I am going to try this one out. But instead of the coconut oil, I am going to use almond butter and stevia for my sweetener. Will let you know how they turn out.

Pumpkin Seeds

You can roast your own, or buy them in the store, pumpkin seeds are a great treat either on their own or on salads and veggies.
Not Pumpkin Spice, But A Green Apple Is A Taste Of Fall

Granny Smith apples are allowed on the sugar detox diet. Bake them in the oven with butter, cinnamon, and nuts added for a tasty treat. Add green apples and nuts to a salad for a taste of fall.
I am still trying to stick to my sugar detox diet. Fall is really hard because of all the great food associated with the season. Some of my favorites and I do not want to miss out. I have allowed myself 1 glass of wine for the weekends and if “tempted” by a fall seasonal treat I will allow a “bite O”. This keeps me from having FOMO (fear of missing out) for foods but also not going crazy. Worked too hard to go back now.

I love your double tiered tray with little pumpkins- where did you get it?
Anna made it up for me. She got everything from Hobby Lobby. Including the tired tray.
