I am down at the beach this week meeting with the contractors to fix my water damaged floors. YUCK! The damage came from a faulty valve from the water line to my ice maker. It all can be fixed. When I am not dealing with workmen, you can find me spending some much needed time resting by the pool and giving the puppies swimming lessons.
With Spring upon us, I am hoping to do a better job at blogging. I will tell you Spring is my favorite time of year and I love to be active playing tennis and working in my yard filling my planters with gorgeous flowers.
But today I want to share with you some of my favorite items for the spring and early summer.

First, let’s talk about sun protection. This is the time of year you will get burned. I have made this mistake on multiple occasion. The weather is fabulous and you spend hours out in the sun only to wake up the next day with burned nose or feet (ouch!). I have found the best sunscreen for my face is the CeraVe Hydrating Sunscreen. You will have a white tint because it does have zinc in it but it can handle swimming and sweating. For my body, I go with scent. The Hawaiian Tropic Sport brings back memories of hanging out by the pool and lathering up in Hawaiian Tropics Dark Tanning Oil without the danger and damage. Don’t forget your lips! Lots of products out there, I like the Coppertone Sport Lip Balm that helps moisturize along with
Natural Glow Without The Sun
Not ready to hit the beach or the pool yet but need that sun kissed glow? My favorite sunless tanning lotion is Jergen’s Natural Glow. Get the one that is firming. Cause let’s be honest, cellulite looks a lot better with a tan. I use this daily on my body, arms, and legs. I do not use it on my face. For my face I like to brush on the Tarte Amazonian Waterproof Clay Bronzer. Make sure you get a kabuki brush to use just for this produce (it can get messy). I have the Elf Retractable Contour Brush.
Sunglasses are a very personal purchase. But for tennis and outdoor activities such as boating, biking, and gardening, I have found these to be the BEST! The polarized lens makes everything POP and they are the ultimate sunglasses for driving in the rain because the cut the glare. I have them in the brown because that seems to be better for tennis. It makes the little yellow ball stand out so much it is hard to miss it! My sunglasses is the Maui Jim Ho’okipa in brown. Maui Jim also offers many of its styles in prescription lens and readers, perfect for reading your book on the beach.
Need A Good Read?
My final Friday Favorite is a book recommendation. Bad Blood: Secret and Lies in a Silicon Valley Start-Up. This book reads like a true crime normal as it explores the shocking collapse of Theranos, the multi-billion dollar startup and its founder, Elizabeth Holmes. From elaborate scams to corporate intrigue, you will have a hard time putting it down. HBO is making this into a movie.
