My Outfit For Thanksgiving

Hello, Darlings!

Thanksgiving is almost here. What happened? I was in September then I blinked and now it is mid-November and the holidays are staring me in the face.  When you think of the holidays you think of stress.  I remember growing up when there was this preconceived notion of the “perfect Thanksgiving”. Something out of a Norman Rockwell picture.  But most of all I remember watching my mothers plan and prepare the meal only to have something go wrong.  The turkey did not defrost all the way (that was a disaster), forgotten ingredients, started a fire in the kitchen, the dog got into the food on the table. and the list goes on.  We will not even talk about the family squabbles.  Needless to say, it ended up as one Maalox Moment.

Creating A Casual Stress-Free Thanksgiving

Because of these memories, over the years I have made Thanksgiving a relaxed, casual, and stress-free event.  We have Thanksgiving up at our lake house where internet is slow, there is nowhere to go, and sitting and relaxing is the theme of the day.  My turkey is precooked and brought to the lake from a local bbq restaurant, all the fixings are easily warmed up in the oven. We don’t go overboard, it is a nice simple meal.  Afterward, there is time for long walks in the woods and even longer nap on the hammock. It has become my favorite holiday.

What To Wear On Thanksgiving

Ethyl Clothing Addilynn Dahlia

Because we keep Thanksgiving low key and casual, I don’t need any fancy, fussy Thanksgiving outfit.  But, we do take pics and I want to look my best and still be comfortable.  This year I have chosen as my Thanksgiving outfit the Addilynn- Dahila animal print top from Ethyl Clothing.  This top was gifted to me by Ethyl Clothing and has become one of my favorites.  It has a cowl neckline, 3/4 sleeves, and pockets. The material is lightweight and super soft with plenty of stretch and room to keep me comfortable but still look stylish.

Cowl Neck Line To Bring Attention Up To My Face

I am all about clothes that figure flattering and comfortable.   This cowl neckline brings attention up to my face without the fussiness of a scarf.

My LOVE of Pockets

Especially this time of year when there can be a nip in the air, pockets are a joy. Perfect place to warm your hands on a nice long walk in the woods. Also, my sinuses are driving me crazy and it is a great place to keep extra tissues without having to hunt them down.

Relaxing On The Swing With A Good Book

Ethyl Clothing- Relaxing On The Swing

When the food has been eaten and the kitchen cleaned up for the last time, I love to treat myself to some quiet time outside on the swing with a good book.  This top is so comfortable that it feels like you have a sweatshirt on.  Just right for relaxing with a warm blanket and a hot cup of tea.  Now, this is what Thanksgiving should be about.

I hope you have a stress free and enjoyable Thanksgiving this year.  Follow me on Instagram to check out our time at the lake this Thanksgiving.
