Today is all about soup-4 Easy Soup Recipes To Stay Warm. It is cold as…… I really don’t know how to finish this sentence because here in the south we are usually talking about how hot it is. We are having a week of “bug killing cold”. That calls for only one thing, SOUP!. When my house is full, it is full of men who want soup extra meaty and want it 10 minutes ago. That means I don’t have all day to cook soup. I have learned some quick and easy soup recipes. During the winter months, I stock up on my ingredients so I can create quick hearty soup in a flash.
Today I am going to share with you my 4 easy soup recipes to stay warm. I even won a “soup tasting contest” with one of them.
Chicken Tortilla Soup
This recipe is a crowd pleaser! You can use the broth you boiled the chicken in but need to add an extra chicken bullion cube for extra flavor. The secret ingredient is the ranch dressing mix.
Chicken Noodle Soup
My chicken noodle soup is very easy. The flavoring comes from the boxed chicken broth. I have added boxed chicken bone broth before, especially if someone has a cold. Bone broth is supposed to be very good for you. My family is not keen on chunky vegetables, so I just add extra meat. *** If you like your Chicken Noodle soup a little more creamy, add 1 large can of Cream Of Chicken Soup.
Easy Meaty Beef Vegetable Soup
This is the soup I won the “First Place Award” for vegetable soups. It is so easy I almost feel like I cheated. It is a “man pleaser” and the judges were all male. The flavoring comes from the Hormel Roast. Make sure you get the one with Au Jus. I have used the Italian Roast before but my men did not like it. The secret ingredient in this one is the French Onion Soup.
Lemon Chicken Orzo Soup
I make this one for just me. Orzo is sometimes called a rice (because it looks like one) but it is a pasta. You can also add extra seasonings such as a bay leaf if you want to cook it longer. The smell in your house is incredible.
Here is a list of ingredients to have “on hand” this winter to make quick soups that will keep your family warm and they will love. You can half any of these recipes for a smaller group or empty nest. Or not, and save it for leftovers.
Hope you are keeping warm this week. Ready to make plans for the New Year. I don’t do resolutions, I do battle plans. Check out my planners and organizers I use Getting Organized In 2018.
