Do not go empty-handed to your holiday parties. I have some easy and quick hostess gifts ideas for you. With the hustle and bustle of the season, it is easy to forget a hostess gift. Do you have to bring one?… no…. but…. it is truly appreciated after all the hard work a hostess goes thru to put together a party. If you have ever hosted a gathering at Christmas you know what I am talking about. If the event is at a boss’s house…. you better not arrive empty-handed.
My Favorite Hostess Gift Ideas
The Gift Of Life Christmas Cactus
I am not a poinsettia fan. They die quickly and are a bit.. clique. My go-to plant for a hostess gift or boss gift is the Christmas Cactus. They come in several colors and unique and can be quite “showstopping” if they are in full bloom. Best of all for the recipient, they are easy to grow and come back year after year. I have had mine for 5 years. You just put it outside and basically forget it. Just before the first frost, bring it back inside, fertilize it, place in a sunny spot, and wait for the show.
I usually find them at my local garden center, local florist or Home Depot.
The Gift Of Wine
This is easiest and quickest hostess gift. Over the years, I have developed quite a nice wine collection from hostess gifts. Now they have such cute bag for presentation. My favorite wines to give are Meiomi Pinot Noir and Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio
Nest makes FABULOUS candles. This one will surely be a hit. I have seen several promotions on this candle. Amazon has the Nest Holiday Candle for $30 (regular $40).
My favorite in this category is the candle/lotion/soap gift set. I like to give something to start the winter season off. This gift set from William Sonoma is my favorite.
Hope this helps you prepare for the upcoming holiday party season. A great rule of thumb… if you love it, they will love it too. How much to spend? Another rule of thumb, the price of a good bottle of wine. Between $10-$30 depending on the event or the host.
